Decided to create some saw dust. That was an experience....above:Affordable ceramic tile can be cut and assembled into
beautiful, rich patterns. Planning and doing the math helps.above: Bamboo, shown on the left, is solid wood that can be
resurfaced over the years. On the right is a typical engineered
wood floor that "floats" as a snapped-together expanse with no
nails.above:Tile floors installed in tract houses built by contractors
paying laborers by the job are guaranteed to have plenty of loose
tiles over the years due to the shortcuts taken during the install.
Shown is part of the process of repairing such a floor. On the
right is the renewed, beautiful floor.
What's under that dance floor? Multiple layers as well as
a cushion, if you hope to dance for hours or years on end without injury.
